Hello To everyone,

I am just returning to birding and was hoping that someone could advise me on a purchase. I would like to buy the BWPi, but it appears that the DVD guide to British Birds is very similar and £100 cheaper!

Can anyone have experience of both, or either advise me please?

Best wishes

Gordon

Hello Gordon

By far the best value is the set of 6 DVD's by Paul Doherty - The Birds of Britain & Europe.
Price £31.99.

Hello Roy,

I already have the Doherty set and agree with you that it is great value for money. The BWPi is different though as it has the complete versions of the BWP books (Originally costing over £1,000), plus the full version of the concise version of the BWP books and ten hours of videos, plus software that allows you to add your own photos, etc..

I would buy it now, but I am not sure if the British Birds v9 also contains the books?

Best wishes

Gordon

I can't offer advice with BWPi Gordon as I don't have it.
I do have BWP concise in hardback form which I use quite a lot.
I would have thought that the full versions of BWP would be pretty hard going,
even in DVD form, but I am sure that there are other forum members that can offer advice on that.

Regards

Roy

Hello Roy and Dean,

Thank you for your input, I have placed an order for the BWPi. I just couldn't resist having the complete text of BWP. I wanted them as they came out, but family needs meant that I just could not afford them. They have now flown the nest so I intend to indulge myself a little.

Best wishes

Gordon
