The Lincolnshire Bird Club

This afternoon we had our first sighting of the nude beach walker - reported occasionally by others on this forum. He swung towards us along the shore line from the Saltfleet direction, showing well when viewed through the Swarovski 'scope at about 30x mag. Other than that there was little of interest with the highlights being a fine Grey Plover and a raft of about 100 Common Scoter on the sea. There was no sign of any Tern species or of Skuas, and more surprisingly, a total absence of Sanderling.

Interesting that a one nudist sparks a comment. You should walk out from Crook Bank and walk southwards along the newly formed dune ridge, or alternatively along the higher coastal dune ridge if you really want to see some outrageous sights. They stand up at the top of the ridges and bare all to the elements. In fact, one of my colleagues even had a nudist walking along the track on a very chilly February day wearing only a pair of sandals!

Sanderling are never common at Saltfleet, their main area of concentration is from Brickyard Lane southwards on the NNR.

They guy on the bike is a regular in Tetney/Northcoates area Andy but quite discreet. He even has his own chair in the dunes
