LWT Consultation on extension of Woodhall reservesAs you may know, Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust purchased 300 acres (120 hectares) of the former Woodhall Spa airfield last year, and now hopes to acquire the rest through grant funding and donations.
Old runways will provide access to the heart of the site offering extensive views of a wildlife rich landscape, and links will be established with the significant aviation visitor attractions in the areas. See link to Trust site at the bottom of the article.
The Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust needs
your views about the transformation of the remaining area of the Woodhall airfield to a living landscape and LWT reserve (excepting golf course and RAF testing site).
I wondered if Forum readers would be able to give their views on the questions below? Please email answers to
pattarttelin@gmail.com 1. What is the key importance of the old RAF Woodhall site to Lincolnshire Bird Club, and its members?
2. What specific bird data issues should LWT take account of, in this project?
3. What elements of design would be helpful to improve ornithological diversity on the site? Or to encourage particular species?
4. Are there any obvious opportunities to work jointly with LWT, on bird data collection, or conservation?
5. Is there anything else that you would like to add?
