Post subject:  Ringed Plover

On Friday afternoon I picked up a colour ringed Ringed Plover at Pywipe, I had a col rd bird there previously from Snettisham, but this bird's combination echoed that of a juv Curlew Sandpiper we had at Alkborough last year and a Rock Pipit I found at Barton last October; all were in fact ringed at the same location in Norway see below; a good species range

Thank you very much for taking the time to report to us details of the sighting of a flagged Common Ringed Plover (Charadrius hiaticula) . Information about the bird and its movement is given below:

Ring no : Stavanger 8A56732
Yellow flag JHJ ( Left tarsus : metal ring. Left tibia: red colour ring . Right tibia: yellow colour ring engraved with three black letters JHJ).
Age/sex: 1K / 1cy (hatched 2013).
Ringing date: 25.08.2013, 17 hrs
Ringing place: Makkevika (62.30N-06.02E) (Giske Ornithological Station), Giske, Møre & Romsdal, Norway.
Remarks: Caught in mist net at our wader station.
Ringer: Kjell Mork Soot.



Finding date: 08.08.2014.
Observed : Pywipe Mudflats (53.35.06N-00.06.45W) North Lincolnshire, England
Distance : 1054 km SSW. Direction: 203 deg. Time: 0-11-14. (11 months-14 days).
Remarks:In a flock of 23 birds.
