Work is underway on the LBC 2013 bird report.

At the weekend, Andrew Henderson, Phil Espin and myself had a meeting to discuss the 2012 Report and if there should be any changes to the 2013 report. We would would welcome constructive feedback from the bird club membership (although, I am pleased to report that most of the comments I have had over the past two weeks have been very positive...)

So, we are interested in members views on..

The new layout (do you like the ringing information in the systematic list)?
The use of tables (more or less)?
More or less images (too many or not enough)?
More or less charts (I am aware the text was too small in the charts in the 2012 report)?
More or less text (less images would mean or text)?

Please post comments below, or get in touch direct. And, if you are interested in helping out, then please get in touch...

Thanks

Andrew

FYI - The 2012 report was 192 pages (full colour) which is about the right size that the birdclub can afford to fund it for the next few years at least. The present membership subscription doesn't quite cover the full printing cost, so should we have less images, more black and white text? The cost of production is £8.50 per copy and the postage is about £1.60 - so the £12 membership covers the individual costs (just). Non-members have to pay £15 per copy (last year we sold approx 70 copies and have about 50 left). Finally, we do give away approx. 25 copies to conservation organisation (BTO, RSPB, LWT, GLNP etc..)
