Can anyone advise re the prospect of Brexit?

Will our birds have more of a future under EU or Westminster legislation?

Thanks

Jim

It looks about 50/50 at the moment, and the impact either way on UK bird populations and our environment generally is an issue that has been in my mind too Jim, not sure what the right answer is, but we won't be covering it at the AGM!

If I see any good articles on the subject I'll post a link here and it would be good if anyone else who's interested could too.

As I understand it, European MEPs have voted by over 90% to maintain the Habitats Directive and the Birds Directive, both of which have been effective in maintaining or improving the status of many species.

As I understand it, our Government (no longer the Greenest) have cut spending to Environmental bodies and agencies by 80%.

I can't see this as a 50/50 issue.

Agree with you Robert and as an annual traveller in Europe I will be voting to stay
as I am impressed with nature conservation in several of the countries I have visited in recent years.
I also consider myself a European as well as English.

regards John

I think I have to agree with Robert and John...
