Derek Pell

It is with great sadness to report that Derek Pell has passed away this evening (05/02/2017) after an illness. He loved his birds and had many great friends in the Lincolnshire Birding community. I am sure he will be greatly missed by everyone.

On behalf of the LBC membership I am sure everyone would join me in sending our best wishes to Joe and his family at this difficult time,

So sorry to hear the sad news. Derek was ever a gentleman, always with a ready smile and friendly chat. He will be greatly missed.

A great loss to the Lincolnshire birding scene. Derek always had time for a friendly chat and was a mine of information on 'what was about'. He had the knack of making you feel really welcome when you came across him birding around Lincs.

I fully agree with the above. Derek was a kind and friendly birder. Always a pleasure to bump into him in the field

Email from Joe Pell;

Funeral information for Derek Pell is as follows if anyone is interested in attending.

It will take place at 3.30pm at Boston Crematorium on Monday 20th February. We ask for donations for St Barnabas Hospice who looked after him in his final days.

Many thanks

Joe
