Lincs Bird Club 2015 Report

I am pleased to report the LBC 2015 report is at the printers and should be with members in the next month.

The report includes details of the Squacco Heron at Kirkby Pits - the second county record. Red-footed Falcon at Willow Tree Fen, plus the extremely rare juvenile Red-footed Falcon at the Gibraltar Point NNR - probably the first time one of this age has been seen in Lincolnshire.

A pair of Black-winged Stilts were at RSPB Frampton Marsh in May, followed by a White-rumped Sandpiper and Broad-billed Sandpiper. Also at Frampton, a superb adult White-winged Black Tern graced the reserve!

There are over 100 colour photographs and over 60 charts. Also, includes the following articles;

Azorean Yellow-legged Gull Larus michahellis atlantis: first record for Lincolnshire at Marston, 26th October 2015 by Ben Ward and Dave Roberts

Pacific Golden Plover at Alkborough Flats, January 2015 by Graham P Catley and Neil Drinkall

The status of Little Egret Egretta garzetta in Lincolnshire by Phil Hyde

Observations on breeding Lesser Spotted Woodpeckers at Swanpool, Lincoln, 2015-2016 by Andy Sims

Red-throated Divers Gavia stellata wintering off Lincolnshire by Andrew Henderson and Kevin Wilson
