From Chris Routh of Humber Wading Ringing Group re colour-ringed waders!
Humber Wader Ringing Group has been ringing waders on the Humber Estuary since 2003 to
monitor movements and survival.
As well as BTO metal rings we have been putting colour rings and coloured leg flags on
Redshank Curlew Black-tailed Godwit Oystercatcher Knot
These colour rings make the birds individually identifiable and the information on their
location and date of sighting is vital to wader conservation around the North Sea and the East
Atlantic Flyway. Other ringing schemes are ringing the same and other species. If you see
any colour ringed birds please record:

*ring/flag colour & position on left & right leg, above or below the knee
