Hi,

The message below has been in the LBC news section for many weeks but I've copied it here in case you've not seen it before. It would be helpful if you could let me know if you are coming so we have enough buns etc!

Lincs Bird Club members are cordially invited to a summer BBQ at the RSPB's offices/gardens at Roads Farmhouse, Frampton nr Boston on Sunday 26 August from 3pm.

There is an evening high tide, so anyone who wants to can join us on a ca. 2 hour walk to the saltmarsh, returning for the BBQ which should be ready for about 5ish.

This is a bring & share BBQ, so please bring enough for yourself and be prepared to share with others, however vegetarians will of course be exempt from sharing with carnivores. We'll provide the BBQ, do the cooking, have salad and condiments, crockery etc.

We will also have a prize Bird Quiz (probably featuring a range of yellow-legged waders!) by Paul French. Feel free to bring along any interesting photos, anecdotes, inflatables etc.

There is no charge, but please note this is a members only event (although you can bring a guest/partner). If you are not a member, but would like come and are happy to join/rejoin at the BBQ, this would be fine!

Directions
From the Kirton roundabout on the A16 four miles south of Boston, take the turn signposted 'Frampton'. Follow this road for 1.5 miles, past the church and pub out into open countryside. After a further 1.5 miles past the pub look out for a single lane track on the right signposted 'Roads Farmhouse' and then turn here. The car park is on the left after 100m.

Can I come with a cheque/cash, and join LBC on the day?

I might need transport from the centre of Boston, or a pick-up from my house.... is anyone able to do that?

Parents not happy with the idea of my cycling all that way, for various reasons.

They have expressed a strong preference that if possible, someone gives me a lift there, and they'll be able to give me a lift home.

Apart from a cheque, I don't know what I can bring to the BBQ, and if I was to cycle in this hot weather, freeze-ables would have melted, and stuff might go off........
