The last two days has seen new life in the garden, with the young uns. Yesterday had two adult Great Tit with two juvs being fed sunflower hearts. Then had a juv Goldfinch on the nyger feeder. A juv House Sparrow seemed a little lost sat in the magnolia.

Today had two juv Greenfinch with one of the adults. This afternoon saw two juv Blackies poking about in the wood chippings.

The lack of H. Sparrows is a concern, usually have upwards of twenty in garden, and that's not including the juvs, maybe the first broods didn't survive.

Looking forward to seeing many more young uns.

I hope to have juv goldfinches in my garden too, i have a small cherry tree situated by the pond and last week i noticed the goldfinches visiting it a lot, after close inspection i found they were nest building, now the nest has been built and the female is sitting so no mowing the lawn for a month.

I have just looked out of my window and have seen a group of juv house sparrows and an adult feeding on the sunflower kernels. I'm hoping that my regular tree sparrows bring their young too. No goldfinch juv yet though and I often have 12+ adult in the garden.

Well my wish has just come true! I've looked out onto my back garden again and there is an adult tree sparrow with two juveniles. There are also 6 Jackdaws and 3 rooks.

At midday a juv Goldie was on the nyger feeder not knowing what to do, two adults were lower down feeding merrily, quite unconcerned that the juv didn't have a clue how to access the seed. It sat there for ten minutes then took off. It came back with another Goldie juv and they landed on the feeder. This other one was a little older from it's markings, it had no problem getting the seeds out. Lets hope the younger one was taking note!

To add to my ever growing list of young uns, had a juv Dunnock this afternoon sat on the back garden path. Wondered if it was waiting for a titbit.

I too had a juv Dunnock on my ground feeder this morning. Still no sign of Goldfinches or Blackbirds though.

I too have had goldfinches, greenfinches, blackbirds and dunnocks, and also robins.
There has been a lot of house sparrow activity in the bramble thicket in the front garden (it's quickly expanding and could soon be grabbing people walking past!), but no juvs as yet.

I have just had my first two juv Goldfinches in my garden. Now I need to go refil my nyger and sunflower heart feeders for them.

The two young Goldies are now proficient on the nyger feeder.

The young Starlings arrived today, spotted three of them hiding from the moggy.

can now add fledgling Wrens to the list - caught a glimpse of three this morning, could be more but undergrowth too dense to be sure - still hoping that the Wren nesting under the tractor will also be productive.

Young Goldies are really getting good at using the Dovaston at both the Sunflower Hearts and Niger Feeders! Still young Starlings and Blackbirds in abundance!

Had a single Starling this morning tucking into an apple.
