WILD COAST programme

Mike McDonald
mike_mcdonald@hotmail.co.uk

23rd, 24th and 25th November –
A celebration of our wild coastline

Venues

1. Donna Nook - seals giving birth in natural surroundings and indulging in beach colony life – personal visits NOT recommended due to visitor numbers which last year got up to 3 to 4 thousand a day – VERY difficult to park, next to impossible to get to the fenceline to watch seals – not recommended as an environment for young children

2. The Seal Sanctuary – will be open all 3 days AND free admission/parking – remote video access to birthing grounds offered in their education suite from 2pm to 5pm daily – and tours of all the other exhibits – see seals VERY close up - lots of other birds and animals too – café for meals & drinks – our planet through the ages – hours of enjoyment

3. The Loewen Cinema – remote video access to the seal birthing grounds in warm, comfortable luxury cinema seating – see them on the big screen daily from 9.30am to 1pm

4. The Atrium at Holivans caravan park is open to visitors with talks and slides and films

5. See the RNLI tower – Join in with Simon Cooter from Natural England on a “Beach Fest” – see what you can collect and study from the shoreline – why not see the lifeboats whilst you are there

6. Queens Park – see flocks of Canada Geese on the lake, – also mallards and other geese and ducks live there – childrens playground – Linda’s pavilion cafe

7. Call in at the new Library to get full details of the programme and the weeks events – talk to John Gregory and leave your photography competition entry on the computer for judging at the weekend – we hope to feature the top 12 in a calendar for next year to raise funds for the RSPB – WI ladies move over !!

8. Walk round to the new Library where experts from ELDC conservation and recycling schemes will show you how to protect and preserve the planet on which we live.
Local residents - collect your free light bulbs and plugs – want to learn how to cut your household bills AND be kind to the environment – we can help

**PLEASE NOTE THE LIBRARY WILL BE CLOSED ON SUNDAY**
