I have put another quick flock size test shot in the discussion birds album (its wet and dark so you have to pass the time somehow) ---no counting now-----spotted answer in a couple of days; I find Goldies tricky on the Humber where there can be anything from 2000 to 30,000 in individual flocks--no pwizes

interesting that estimates have more than doubled from the first---is that due to more time spent looking or a follow on from the general increase in estimates? to me this does not look like a huge flock unlike some of the closely massed Goldy flocks as the birds here are quite spread out and it should therefore be easier to get a more accrate estimate; if they flew past you would probably only have 5-6 seconds so try and limit looking to that amount of time

I'm even more confused, what is a Goldie? a plover,an eagle, a finch,an oriole,or some new Klondyke strike, don't know what your counting so will have to say nil.
