Well that's me finished a rather hectic year of Green/Low Carbon listing. Have run out of energy these last few weeks and didn't feel like making that one last push to get WF Goose, MarshTit, Nuthatch and Raven. So year ended on 233.
Huge thanks to everybody who has helped by phoning and texting and encouraging - not planning to do it again. I reckon I've notched up 6000 miles or more on my bicycles.
Off to Peru tomorrow for a few new lifers!!
Best wishes to all for Christmas and New Year and here's to a better Autumn 2008.

Edmund

Well done Ed!

Any chance of a list of all the birds you saw? Should make interesting reading.

Cheers

Steve

I have also finished my green listing as I am off to India tomorrow, hopefully to see tigers and a few new birds.

I only managed a total of 191 species but it took me 3,163 miles to achieve this.

Best wishes to all my friends for a very merry Christmas and a happy and bird filled New Year.

233 is a fantastic total, well done Edmund, I admire your stamina, I doubt if I'll get to 180, too much work and not enough birding time in the last 3 months and poxy weather for biking too. I've done about 2100 miles so it sounds as if its 40 miles / tick to get to a big total.

I reckon there's a further dimension to green birding, slow birding. Most people will have discovered that already but it takes time for the twitching instinct to wear off!

Well done Edmund and Andy. You've managed to save up enough carbon in a year to use it up by flying to Peru and India respectively! (Only joking).
