There has been reports of a "guy in a white van at the owl box near the river. He had a glove on his right hand only and stopped again at the nearby dyke and went down the bank".

If anyone has any further information, or see anything then please report it. Best action is to contact Wildlife Crime Officer PC Nigel Lound - I'm not sure of the best telephone number/email address to use, but I'm sure someone will add details to this post.

Regards

Andrew

Get the van's registration number, if poss. if he does it again.

If not, I'll head over there and give his botty a spanking if he's stealing stuff.

There is a possibility that this guy could be a bona fide Nest Recorder/Ringer. They must carry with them a copy of their Schedule 1 Licence (in the case of Barn Owls) and would be only too pleased to show it to any concerned party. However, do not approach them if you are not sure of their intentions.

I have been informed of this report of a 'big guy' in a white van. The box in question is monitored/maintained by me (you will know it's me if you see a small 4x4 silver Daihatsu). If anyone sees anyone else acting suspiciously around the boxes, you can contact me by pm.

Thanks,

Alan

I am aware of this male/van but as yet dont have a reg number. If seen again it is best to report it as a "suspicious vehicle" to Lincs Police Control Centre on 01522 532222. Dont forget to obtain an incident number. This will allow me to see what, if anything, was done about it!If you need to contact me in person, I am at nigel.lound@lincs.pnn.police.uk or on 07770 692474.
