Hi

Could anyone please tell me if there are any decent starling roosts in the county. I guess that Far Ings will have one, but what about anywhere a bit further south?

Thanks,

Paul.

I think there is one near Oldrids Downtown and Tesco to the west of Boston..... we get plenty of swooping Starlings this end of town during the winter and early spring....

You may be interested to know that Boultham Mere LWT Reserve in Lincoln currently has a Starling roost estimated to hold 40-50,000 birds. Last winter at its peak the roost was estimated to hold up to 65,000 birds.

There is little in the way of information to undertake comparisons, but we do wonder if this is one of the more important roost sites in Lincolnshire.

Regards

Grahame
