With Life List at 168, I am keen as mustard to get that up to 170 ASAP. I have not been out birdwatching at all this week and am feeling impatient and trapped as something has gone a bit wrong with my wound healing.

As a result, I am STILL unable to carry my telescope and Dad will have to act as caddy if nobody else can be found. He doesn't have a lot of spare time in the next few weeks which is making me feel even more trapped, frustrated, down in the dumps, slightly angry and bored just watching the garden and going for occasional brief sorties to Westgate Wood. Without Dad's help I can't get out and go anywhere.

What I would like is to go to a place reasonably local to Boston that is accessible by public transport and will help me get the following:

Pochard
Ruddy Duck
Scaup
Smew
Green Woodpecker
Twite

If any of you fine gentlefolk could provide any locational/practical/transportational help regarding a birdwatching visit to these parts of Lincolnshire and are willing to share a scope (I can bring my own bins and field guide), then that'll be great! PM me if you can help.

Hi Katherine

There is currently a Pochard on the Haven opposite the Frontier grain store. Easy to see from the opposite bank.

there are occasional pochard at freiston at the moment on reservoir and lagoon and there is a flock of twite opposite car park at frampton, seen green woodpecker a few times just past Moores arms on verge on way to frampton, they are also in Boston cemetary. You could check sea at freiston for scaup too, cheers
Paul
