Belated news (apologies if it's been discussed before) of the passing of Eric Simms. His beloved South Witham gets short shrift, not surprising considering his many other achievements. He found loads of good local birds in and around South Witham - including a spring Red-foot, and fielded more than a few phone calls from one itinerant ex Grantham kid-lister about visible migration on the Wash Severn Corridor.... A truly great naturalist.

Sad loss - I went to a talk he gave in Sleaford some years back.....

I believe that this also means that the Bird Club no longer has an Honorary President?
