Avian Vagrancy, a Global Perspective

Alex is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of East Anglia, but lived in Foston (north of Grantham) for ten years between 1987-1998; and still returns to his old haunts on a fairly regular basis. His doctoral research investigated the impact of forest fragmentation on the birds of the Amazon basin but he has been long fascinated by the phenomenon of vagrancy and the mechanisms by which birds come to find themselves far from their normal ranges.
