A new garden record concerned a male Banded Demoiselle around 1620 this afternoon. It was mainly resting in the lower outer branches of a silver birch a short distance from my main garden pond and tended to fly a few feet when my presence was too close. It remained there when I left it a few minutes ago. I have not recorded this species before in the local area. The grid reference is TF 421979. |
