Some park at the Tritton Road shopping centre but there is a two hour limit. Others park behind the cinema/bowling alley (standing back from Tritton Road between the shopping and Morrisons) It doesn't look the safest car-park I have ever seen. I park at the bottom end of Hartsholme Drive at its junction with Westwood Drive. These are found down Almond Avenue which is off Skellingthorpe Road. There is pleasant walk across the fields to the mere. There are two six barred gates to climb over. You can make a detour through the woods easily from the path. The whole walk is just over 1.3 miles including the detour. After the last gate cross the drain by the sluice and the hide is just a couple of hundred yards away and just round the corner following the northern arm of the drain
Approximate co-ordinates 53 degrees 13 minutes 5 seconds and 0 degrees 34 minutes 13.8 seconds
