Members may be interested to know that a feature re the Osprey at Barton will be in tomorrow nights (thurs) Scunthorpe Telegraph. I was contacted last week by a reporter wishing to do an article and they have visited me today to take photos.

Not overly pleased with the article, I was mis-quoted a few times, but hey, they say you shouldnt believe what you read in the papers!!! :D :D

Hi Mandy, to be mis quoted in the evening telegraph is not new, they have been doing it for years.
But can be very annoying at times especially when the whole article is changed and not always for the better. Did not see the article with living in Louth, my experience has always been with the Grimsby one.
Regards Mike Surr

Hi Michael, thanks for your reply, it is annoying when this happens, they took bits of the interview and mixed them all up so nothing they stated I had said was true. Argg makes me mad!!! Oh well not to worry, not much I can do about it now! I think in the future if I ever get asked to contribute to an article I will insist I see the draft first before it is printed!

A few years ago I organized a Nightjar Survey for the Forestry Commission in the Market Rasen area. Their Press Officer sent a release to all the local papers. The only problem was the Lincolnshire Echo published the article with a picture of a Kookooburra!! Apparently their junior reporter found the picture on the Internet and thought it was a Nightjar!! Needless to say I got quite a bit of ribbing!!!
