For over 20 years my wife and I have walked on many occaisions along the beautiful chalk stream that runs between Belleau and Aby, every time we have both commented that we should see one, and finally today we have seen one, a KINGFISHER, and as a reward it gave us a ceremonial flypast on the way back as well.
Can we therefore, please, claim this as the longest wait in Lincolnshire.
Regards, Mike Surr

Michael, I know how you feel. Autumn is a good time to see first year Kingfishers on dispersal from their breeding areas. I went out this afternoon to ring roosting Redwings and, in addition, had the priviledge of catching one in a mist net at 1645 today at Walesby Moor!! It was a first year female and being able to see the beautiful plumage at close range is awesome
