Crikey Stuart, I thought I'd got away with that. I had helped Howard (the photographer) to meet the BBC crew as time was very short for all concerned, unfortunate thing was - they asked me to say a line or two, not good when you are not expecting it, freezing cold, wet and full of cold.

Howard is a member of the Far Ings Bird Group and also spends a lot of time on the Reserve with his camera. His photography is improving all the time and as you saw on the TV, he can produce some fantastic images. He has a 'blog' if you wish to see his work, I think it is called HOWARD'S BIRDSPOT.

Winning the competition is great for Howard, great for Far Ings and great for Barton.

I am sure that Howard will go on from this and produce more images that are worthy of victory in competitions.

He is still learning the art of birdwatching and maybe one day he will become a member of the LBC.

Thanks Terrance and to you too, in fact a big Christmas hello to all the LBC birders!

Also a big thanks to all that have helped me over the years (>3 now - only another 6+ before my apprenticeship ends!)

I have a feeling 2012 will be a cracking year for us and perhaps may even increase in coverage. [-o<

Cheers all!
