For once words fail me. When the LWT Head of Reserves gives a comprehensive overview of how they are stretched to maintain their reserves throughout the county you make a fatuous comment about driving round in a big truck! I wonder how many of the whingers are LWT members and therefore helping with their subscription - not all I fancy.
PS I have now noted you have editted your comment re big trucks.

Been busy Volunteering, so only just read Daves (LWT) reply.

No offence ment Dave but speaking as a long time birder with 20+ years experience volunteering with another Wildlife Trust.
Your comments appear to me at least. To be the longest excuse for not cutting a bit of reed growth (No truck required) that I have ever heard.

Having never worked with LWT I can't comment but your volunteer issue/comment comes as no suprise to me.
A few years ago I moaned about a Linc's RSPB reserve and also offered my services as a volunteer. The RSPB responce was very welcoming and supportive.

Now that Anthony and Dean have started getting personal I will respond. When I read Andy's thread he had written something to the effect that all LWT wardens do is ride round in big trucks - Jon Salmon picked up on this and commented on it. Whilst I wrote my bit Andy bottled out and deleted his "big truck" comments by editing the thread which I alluded to. At least when I put in my two pennyworth I have the guts to stand by what I have said!
