Further to my previous post, and with the same restrictions, my " Spotted Flycatcher in Lincolnshire 2011 Project " sightings have now reached....35 :
31. 01 August - Snipe Dales Country Park (near Horncastle)...adult flycatching
.....06 August - Revisit to Riseholme (near Lincoln)...adults feeding chicks in nest
.....08 August - Revisit to Riseholme...adults feeding newly-fledged young nearby
32. 08 August - Fillingham Lake (near Lincoln)...pair feeding (hidden) young
33. 09 August - Woodhall Spa ...4 adults in aerial 'tag' chasing
34. 14 August - Hatcliffe (NE Lincs)... juvenile preening in pond area
35. 14 August - Tetney (NE LIncs)...adult flycatching, possibly feeding (hidden) young.
Thanks to those Lincs birders who have not only shared their sightings but have also given me site location details.
Tetney was my 73rd different (successful/potential) specifically Spotted Flycatcher 2011 site visit.
The most disappointing recent dips have been :
31 July - Chambers Farm Wood (10.30 - 1.45pm) (potential)
05 August - Burghley Park, Stamford (12.00 - 4.00pm) (follow-up)
07 August - Dunsby Sewage Treatment Works (near Bourne) (11.00 - 12.30) (follow-up)
13 August - Woodhall Spa previous stakeouts... and Petwood Hotel Grounds ( but tasty Turkey Sandwiches with Redcurrant Jelly served on the Terrace

) (11.45 - 3.00pm)
.....and after visiting a total of 34 different " no Spot Fly report" Lincs country churchyards (except for Willingham-by-Stow), plus revisits, between mid-May and late July, I've finally called it a day and have visited no new ones.
