I, too, congratulate Katherine on and excellent item. However, please remember that "The Jennings" have to sift through the "Sightings" section to extract the County Records. As I suggested at the AGM, it makes their task much easier if other, equally enjoyable contributions, are "pigeon holed in the right section. I don't think, James, that it is "banishment". I read every section with equal enjoyment but I think that it is only fair to those that have to disseminate the volume of sightings that they don't have to read through pages of comments just to find them. However I am equally guilty as this post should be in the "Chat" Section!!!!!

I think you missed the point about my original posting. I don't see a problem with this particular posting being banished to another forum, as I well expected it to be moved straight away. My arguement is with the splitting of a particular entry after only a couple of light-hearted comments. I look at the other forums maybe once in a blue moon and judging by the number of comments on there so do very few others.

I Have never met 'The Jennings', but I am sure that they are intelligent people who are not inconvenienced too much by having to read a few jokey comments.

Note to Admin. I think its about time you moved this, you have my permission.

In response to James's request, and permission, I will move this topic to the more appropriate location of the Chat section as I can't find any sightings in the topic. I'm typing this with a smile on my face folks so don't misunderstand my actions.

I have read all the comments that have been aired on this topic and sympathise with some points of view but not all. Birding is my/our hobby too and, just like many others, we like to see scarce and rare birds but we do enjoy seeing the less exotic species as well.

Although we have been birding, at home and overseas, for nearly thirty years our expertise is still some way below the top county field birders and when we get an id wrong it's annoying but not the end of the world.

And now, before I remove myself to the Chat section, thank you Stuart for your understanding and support.

Regards to all and, of course, good birding,

Colin and Sheila
