its on the move and according to reports has nearly reached the Moray Firth in half a day about 120 miles so if it carries on until dark it may be in line for a 200 mile flight today; according to the Nebraska refuge guide birds that have fed up ready for migration can travel 500 miles in a single day although 200 - 300 miles is more typical; at this rate depending of course on which route it takes when it hits the great glen then it could be passing over Lincs by late Wednesday or Thursday -- eyes to the skies

Pec Sand briefly at Alkborough today -- was present on 28th but has been very mobile and elusive partly as a result of the passage of a hovercraft over the site doing survey work;

Don't torture yourself with optimism!!..................I can already see the headlines.....sandhill crane showed well to 200 birders as it travelled south down the Spurn peninsula towards the Lincolnshire coast ..........next seen at Sheringham !!

Time to set up another section to the expanding Forum - my suggestion is "Rare birds that the listers want which have been seen elsewhere but might turn up in Lincolnshire." Any better titles?
