What is it about North Lincolnshire in November that is so attractive to those 'special' birds that can intrigue us and capture our imagination with special comments? Each November now seems to put an avian star on camera centre stage in North Lincolnshire almost so as to mirror their TV human counterparts with aspects of a late Autumnwatch Show. In November 2008 it was the megastar Steppe Grey Shrike and now in November 2009 the Red-necked Phalarope.
There are certain TV elements mirrored here this month in :
Strictly Come Twitching ,with the Brute( Humber) Foreshore and the Chowder Ness Daily, a definite X Factor, not forgetting Location! Location! Location! (Grainthorpe Haven and Chowder Ness - both in North Lincolnshire) - and the inevitable (Nov only, ant not Dec) Help I'm (now) a Celebrity - Get Me Out of Here .....and then it's Goodbye from Him. Adios Amigos. :(
What new avian star will appear in North Lincolnshire in November 2010 to set the camera shutters on fire again? Watch this LBC web-space and do Look North!

Regards

Freddy (Antiques Roadshow ) Johnson

PS - and then if the RN Phalarope reappears tomorrow( ? ). Ah, well. You can't win them all.
