In May, I will be travelling with my parents to Pembrokeshire for our holiday. Naturally, we will be looking for a place to have a lunch break en route and it is likely that this will happen somewhere in Worcestershire or Gloucestershire. The most likely route we will take will be along the M5, turning off at the M50 and then on to the A40 at Ross-on-Wye.

Naturally, I would be keen to capitalise on this lunch break with some advance research regarding very easily accessible reserves/other bird-rich areas off the said route and get a quick hour in with my scope, bins and lunch box!

Are there any good reserves along the M5/M50/A40 that are easily accessible from those motorways? Preferably (so Dad can't get lost), the reserves/other locations would need to be within 5-10 minutes after turning off the route. I think Upton Warren (Worcs) and the area around Symond's Yat might be good spots, but are there any others?
