When on holiday in Sri Lanka recently Linda's 13 year old 8.5x42 Swarovski binoculars
suffered from condensation on the inside of one of the objective lenses. Upon returning
home we sent them off to Swarovski UK for attention.
Today Linda received a brand new pair of binoculars of similar specification - free of charge.

Very impresssive service!

Too right Richard - I am also a cricket fan.

The kids are cricket mad over there, playing games on any piece of rough ground, sometimes using
a piece of galvanised sheeting in place of the stumps. I saw 5 different 'matches' being played in one field.

The Sri Lankans are, in the main, charming people and I would much rather that we lose a test series to them
than to the Aussies, but the way the England team are playing we may well lose the series to both!

At the price they cost,im not surprised..Ive just got The opticron Discovery Bins for £149,and they compare favourably(its in the reviews_not my word) with £300-£500 bins...say no more,Ive always thought your paying for the name at the end of the day,you are paying a lot more for a bit better..

I have just had excellent service form Swarowski too over the last couple of weeks but the cost of my scope AT80 has nearly doubled since I ordered it in late 2005.

I always reccomend Opticron to our visitors as they give excellent quality and value.

I looked throu Jt Goys Opticron Discovery(8x42) about a year ago and said"crikey these are good,what were these £400?no he said £135 from Amazon,i couldnt believe it!!!they were a Bins with my future name on them!!!,they are ex value for money,bright clear,and very close focusing,great for tracking insects also,i believe mr routledge has a pair for that,but overall ex for the price!!im well pleased...

Hi Rog,

So you got a pair at last, you won't regret it! Before I bought my pair which were recommended by Steve R and he also let me use his while we were at Troutsdale looking for the honey :lol: .

I bought my pair from a firm at Gunness and had excellent service from the bins. I could have got them from Amazon but preferred to buy local at a much higher price, just in case anything went wrong it would have been much easier to take them back than pay lots for postage etc. Before purchasing them I tried out lots of diferent makes including Leica and for me the Opticron were by far the better ( I couldn't afford Leica anyway far too expensive for the likes of little old me).

Been thinking of maybe getting a midget scope.
