Today at Messingham i saw something very spectacular, there were five noisy buzzards high over the car park, one of them grappled with another and started to spiral out of control, i first thought this was a courtship display as they tend to lock their talons together, they must have been like this for about 2 min and all the time getting lower and as they got lower i noticed they had not locked their talons together but one in fact had hold of one by the body, there was a lot of screaming going on and then it let go and it fell to the ground in one of the horse paddocks near to the car park, very unusual behaviour. Courtship display gone too far?

Heavily cropped image in discussion gallery.
