I notice that it is reported that there has been a "tragic decline" of Corn Buntings in Scotland, to the extent that they are reduced
to an estimated 800 pairs. They are now rarer than Corncrakes apparently!

I am wondering how they are doing in Lincolnshire? I saw one at Grange-de-Lings last year but have not seen one this year. They used to be common in my youth.

Aidan,
To put your mind slightly at rest, there is a healthy population in the Stenigot/Withcall area of the wolds. 13 individuals were ringed at Stenigot in 2011 and a further 4 in the first 6 months of this year - we therefore know there are a definite 17 individuals but a number more have been seen.
