While walking home along the river Slea yesterday Sheila and I witnessed behaviour from a Carrion Crow that we have never seen or heard of before. The crow swooped down to the river and tried to snatch a duckling from the water. The duckling dived to escape the crow which then flew up into a tree and was in turn attacked by a furiously 'rattling' Mistle Thrush. The crow chased the thrush but failed to catch it. The duckling and its siblings seemed quite unconcerned. Regards, Colin and Sheila |

About ten years ago at Ruskington - I watch a pair of crows eat two young ducklings from my office window. Not quite the happy ending you had Colin & Sheila. |
