Well what a surprise to find people logging on for this drivel, its about a wood pigeon, WHAT DID YOU EXPECT  .
Today i had a second trip to find the black kite and saw it just before tea time. also 2 corn bunts
2 hobby several buzzards and several marsh harrier.
On the way near Tealby i rounded a corner and saw a Wood Pigeon floundering in the road as though it had been struck by a car so i pulled up and got out and saw a large black and white cat stalking in the roadside scrub. when i got out the cat fled and as i approached the pigeon it took off apparently unharmed without a feather out of place. I can only think it was FAKING IT to protect a nearby young. I have seen this behavoir with lrp's lapwings killdeer etc but have never seen this with a pigeon before. Has anyone else noticed this with this species ? quite anexpected. Told you it was drivel, but the heading will drag them in   .
