Simple question - is this park good for birdwatching? If so, what species have been seen there? |

While you are this way on call at Far Ings, Water's Edge and Chowder Ness, which are on the south side of the bridge and easy to get to. No idea what you will find at the Humber CP, but you will save money by not crossing the bridge. |

I would give the Humber Bridge Country Park a miss for a while as it's pretty waterlogged still following the heavy rains that flooded Hull and surrounding areas earlier this year |

I live right near the country park and to be fair, it's not that good for birds. They have a feeding station which will start to be in use again pretty soon - best chance to see usual finches, tits, siskins and brambling. Apart from the feeding station, I haven't seen (or heard) any bird of note. The place is usually full of dog walkers and kids so if there is anything about, it'll probably fly off anyway before you see it! Like the above say, Far Ings, Waters Edge and Chowder Ness are good sites. I come across the bridge every week to visit these sights and usually there are some good birds about. Barry. |

I once saw a male Golden Oriole in there when i was a fledgling bird spotter,back in the mid 70's,but as for modern times,i think disturbance is probably a big factor nowadays,as it is used by dog walkers a lot,have also heard reports of people seeing Hawfinch in there in the winter,but not recently.
