This morning had 2 starlings fighting on the lawn. Thought at first it was a mating ritual but one of the birds appeared to have the upper hand and was pecking at the head of the other. It actually appeared to be attacking the other one's eye. Does anyone know if this was likely to be an aggressive act or just 'rough love'? James |

I'm pleased to welcome John T Goy to the Forum. He appears to be far more sensible than his predecessor, Max! Seriously, Starlings can be extremely aggessive particularly over food. |

Thank you Stuart. Max is now lurking in the background waiting to pounce on the first member who has a pop at me. I've told him I can look after myself! |
