Thought I'd let you know that it's a very real possibility that I'll be representing the World Owl Trust for this year's 'Bird Brain of Britain' contest at the Rutland Water Birdfair in August. I have got backing from the World Owl Trust's honorary president Tony Warburton, and organiser Tim Appleton knows I want to do the quiz. My specialist subject will almost certainly be 'The Barn Owl'.
Regarding the general knowledge round, if any of you have any bird books/magazines I could borrow (especially about non-European birds and magazines pre-2006), or if you're thinking of getting rid of any that I would find useful, I would be very grateful for them as I have a hell of a lot of reading to do. I am already devoting 3 hours a night to 'revising'!
