At Blacktoft Sands today
I saw a strange bird alight on the bird table while watching the tree sparrows feed. I t was only there for about a minute before disappearing into the hedge
The guy stood with me thought it may have been an indigo bunting but having looked it up it wasn't
It was certainly uniformly indigo on its underparts. Its back was robin colour and its head seemed a shade greyer. Size finch size + or - a touch. The local blue tit certainly didn't like it
Very unusual and like nothing I had seen before. To bad I didn't have more time to set the scope up
Has anyone got any idea from this brief but poor description
