Post subject: | Rock Pipit - RSPB Frampton |
On 05/01/17 a Rock Pipit was observed at RSPB Frampton with a metal ring on left leg tarsus and a yellow colour ring with black digits on its right tarsus. The digits were necessarily small and unreadable even at 20mtrs through a scope. This bird is from a Norwegian Ringing scheme and most probably from 62deg north in the coastal area of Giske. Plumage wise it looked identical to a nominate Anthus petrosus petrosus - no obvious littoralis about it. Legs were more reddish brown than black. Worth looking at Rock Pipit legs if you get a chance. With John Walker and Monica. |
