A pair of Grey Partridges and two chicks were having a dust-bath in the potato field just below the bathroom window this morning. The parent birds were sat down and vigorously pecked the dry earth for several minutes plus rapid wing flapping so as to create an effective dust-bath, with the chicks squeezed in between them.

A pair of Red-legged Partridges appeared in exactly the same spot early this afternoon but with no chicks in tow.
