A red letter day for me. I went down to Saltfleetby after lunch to check the fencing in a grass field adjacent to the R. Long eau when a Stone curlew flushed from a neighbouring field and I observed it as it flew across the road over me and landed in my field before running and crouching in grassy cover. I then took my vehicle into the field and it flushed again seaward and was seen to drop into an arable field during a heavy rain shower. also seen at this site:- 1 Kestrel 3 Y. Wagtails 1 Reed Bunting Meadow Pipits Tree sparrows A brief visit to Paradise earlier found a Cuckoo sat on the fence being taunted by a pair of Meadow Pipits.
