Whilst gazing aimlessly skywards from the back garden (something I do after a few beers) at 10.40pm, I spotted something flying around the spire of St James church Louth, illuminated by the church lights. Looking through bins, it turned out to be our resident peregrine. It settled on one of the crockets on the east side of the spire.
This confirmed a study I had read recently about urban peregrines hunting night-migrating birds over major cities (Bristol, Bath, Exeter etc).
