A red letter day on the patch with my first sighting of Lesser Spotted Woodpecker since 18/03/07, a male calling and drumming in the wood in the same area as 3 Great Spotted Woodpeckers which were also calling, drumming and chasing each other around.
7 Pink-footed Geese on field with Greylags.
1 Shelduck on flooded grass field.
1 female Goosander on mere.
3 Herring & 7 Common Gulls with Black-headeds.
17 Magpies in one bush on the tip.
Also Mick Welbourne had an Osprey at the mere briefly mid morning.
