Promising bright skies turned argumental this morning and straight down showers bullied my enthusiasm. A very Christmas moment stopped me in my tracks alongside Pursuit Pit as a stunted hawthorn caught my eye. An abundant harvest of cherry red berries adorned its crippled crown and on each was a raindrop that remained suspended beneath. If ever a decorated tree deserved to be in a Christmas window of Harrods then this was it. I stared at a Reserve in a thousand spheres and then, "the bells of bearded tit came ringing in". At it's swampy base, a bearded tit. perfect.
Two more roamed Ness and East Pits and my time on Chowder gave me 2 black tailed godwit and 7 bar tailed godwit.
