A walk along the track past the caravan site and then by the railway line at Walesby Moor on Saturday and Sunday produced sightings of crossbills on both days. The largest single flock was about 30 birds. They tended to favour the pines to the right of the railway bridge and the separate plantation approx 400m beyond the bridge and to the left where the track leads off to the A46.
