Quite a few birds were unidentifiable in the dense foggy conditions of today. Many fewer thrushes were seen, but counts of several species were still of significance. From Stonebridge to just south of Quad 3, thrushes were 500 Redwings, 110 Fieldfares, 230 Blackbirds, 55 Song Thrushes and 7 Ring Ouzels. Other prominent migrants were 160 Goldcrests, 7 Chiffchaffs, a late Willow Warbler, 170 Robins, 17 Bramblings, 13 Siskins, 1,300 Starlings, 2 Blackcaps and a Lapland Bunting. A Richard's Pipit was flushed from the lucerne field by the sea-bank and flew calling across to the dunes and 2 Black Redstarts were seen on a spoil heap on the bank.
Another Ring Ouzel was present in my garden in the late afternoon.
