Thanks to the 'missus' for pointing out the rough-legged buzzard over our garden today after it had eluded me over the last week. Apparently, it had been showing well over the Reserve during the morning and was seen later heading south down the East Dunes.

Other than that, I watched a passage of large gulls south over the sea for an hour during the early afternoon c 1500 Herrings, then rained off.

Happy New Year to all !

Kev

Not a bad start to 2013! I saw it fly from East Dunes across the marsh to bushes near the Mere at about 10.10 this morning. Also seen at other times today by Nigel Lound and several others I spoke to.

My only other bird of note was a male crossbill flying south towards Sykes Farm at 11.15.

Regards,

John Watt
