8 Waxwings were still there this morning (Fri) 10.00 - 10.30, at least. They were perched in a tall tree at the road junction as indicated and dropping down to feed on Cotoneaster berries (not many left) in the front garden of 375 Hykeham Road. One can park comfortably in Grange Drive to view the tree.
Many thanks to Andrew for the posting and to Bob Derry for the original info.
I later had an invigorating, brisk walk around and around the Witham St Hughs estate but there was nothing to report re Waxwings.
In the Witham St Hughs Business Park behind BSH, there were 11 Redwings feeding on the approach road grassy verges and a small group of Long-tailed Tits in the bushes..........and a seemingly unvisited (except by me over the weeks) Cotoneaster Tree, still smothered in juicy red berries.
