A Rough legged Buzzard soaring over the hills around Rothwell with 2 Common Buxzzards at about 1245 today. Tail pattern clearly visible as it tilted and circled at one point only 30 metres above me. Has anyone seen it before in this area this winter? Also good mixed flock of buntings in the hedges (c) 30 yellowhammers, 10 Reed Buntings and at least 5 Corn buntings. Lapwings displaying too. Spring today but maybe a nasty shock tomorrow?!!
